Dokuwiki Setup
Summary:
Get this new second brain dokuwiki instance set up with plugins and potentially themes. The Core tenant of this project is to get the bones built for a system to maintain notes, projects, knowledge, etc.
Goals:
- Explore the possibilities of a dokuwiki set up
- Find any pain points with having a wiki vs other software
- Potentially create anything that would be ideal to have but isn't available
- Make some customizations to the styling to make it my own
Notes:
Namespace Plugin - Allows you to make pages that list all pages within a namespace.
- This could be useful to automatically create my Projects, Area, Resource, and Archive lists.
- The only problem is difficulty in moving things around without creating a dead forwarding page which would still show up within the namespace plugin's auto generated list.
Namespace Templates - Dokuwiki allows you to build scaffolding for your namespace separated pages e.g. All project pages have things in common, all of which could be standardized at the template level so they have all basics upon creation
- One thing of note is that the wiki engine can't interact directly with a _template.txt file as it has a leading underscore, it must be done manually on the server itself. Unless you use a plugin such as Template Page Name.
Top 10 plugins - What seems like a pretty decent list of plugins to get. Struct and addnewpage seem like what I might need in order to make a push button daily log page and have it all show up in the daily list based on namespace.
2021-06-14: sidebar was updated to have some basic pages associated that will be used in the future.
2021-06-18: Template Page Name installed and a template made for projects as well as daily logs.
